Dorothea CATS

Cats apparently own the internet.

They are also the real owners of Dorothea House.

Joke aside, if you come to stay with us you have to like cats. There are eight in total & we care about them a lot, so we don’t only casually mention them, we feature them on the website.

Here they are, in all their glory:

Dimitri – Il Boss! He was already here when we took over the house. He rules, his meow counts. A friendly and at times funny chap.
Caesar, the white. Like Dimitri, he was already living on the grounds before we settled. He will go on charm offensive and sneak into your room without you noticing (even though you kept an eye on the door). He’s the friendliest of all.
Here she is, Queen Sava of the London Borough of Hackney. Yes she came a long way, our rescue cat from the UK. Being the oldest and the only one allowed inside, her status is well understood among the colony, namely “the grand dame”.
Contessa Adnana di Fontana. Don’t get between her & her food bowl. Never! She’s the fiercest of all but we know she had a rough deal. She was sick, emaciated and pregnant when we arrived. She’s slowly calming down. If you feel like, you can play with her throwing balls up the corridor. For hours and hours…
Sid Vicious used to be vicious. Another one who had a difficult start, now he’s the sweetest cat you can imagine. But still, he’s a punk.
Poupette la belle – sweet, curious and so gentle. She loves to run around in the court yard and she’s probably going to enter your room too. She loves to be petted, just not on her head, the back side please.
Rosa Red a shy cat who had also a tough game. We couldn’t get her spayed on time and she was pregnant only a few months old herself. Two kitties we gave a way, one we kept – MOMO. She sadly disappeared in 2020.
Uncle Grey, the philosopher. He’s Rosa Red’s brother and he learned Momo how to play & to have a philosophical debate. Maybe, we don’t know. He’s super cute, a gentle playful one.

So, these are our cats. They are all spayed and regularly treated against fleas/worms. Just a few things to remember:

  • They are allowed to be everywhere outdoors but aren’t allowed to go inside the room. Just gently shy them away when they come in.
  • Please don’t feed them any food you’re having, even if they beg. We feed them regularly. If you want to feed them, please ask us. We are happy if you want to contribute or buy cat food yourself.
